tablet pc digitizer pen compatability

#1 Post by thinklogic » Wed Nov 18, 2009 11:55 pm

from what I've read, the pens of most (all?) tablet pc's with Wacom digitizers are compatible with Thinkpad tablets. The main question I have is on "levels of pressure sensitivity". Are these other tablet pc digitizer pens directly swappable in every function, including pressure sensitivity? Or, is using an HP TC1100 digitizer pen, for example, going to be a "neutered" experience?
IBM Thinkpad X41T
Pentium M 758 1.5Ghz, 1.5Gbtyes of ram, OEM 18.6Gbyte 4200RPM harddrive - quick enough for my needs!
Ubuntu 10.10 - I love it!
X41T - $250. Enjoying tablet technology on a budget - priceless.

It's a pretty safe bet that any late model Wacom pen will work with any late model Wacom tablet. There are OTHER tablet manufacturers out there. I would not expect a wacom tablet to work with someone else's pen. It might work.
