ThinkPad E420, trouble with intel HD Graphic 3000

Hi,
I performed OS-X on my e420, everything seem ok except the display is only 1024x768.
I heard that its connection is different from other laptop. Is it right?
If yes, would anyone give me a solution?

I have the same problem with a T420 that uses the HD3000 for Graphics, my install is on vmware workstation 9 and cant get the 3d to work. I am willing to pay at this point, anyone that has a solution please contact me, anyone that knows this is impossible to do kindly inform.
My config is as follows

OSX Mavericks on vm
Intel HD3000
T420 Machine
VM Workstation 10

I installed Maverick. The video works perfect. Nothing else works!!! I am trying to figure out how to just get the sound and wireless card working. I also need to figure out about the boot drive issue. It's funny the install went well and I still haven't crashed yet.

Video will always look normal, you just dont have the right resolution or can use applications that run 3D.
