How to secure MY PC?

Safest method is to leave computer off, completely unplugged and in a secure vault. Otherwise I just use Microsoft Security Essentials. Don't know anything about Dell security software as I don't own any Dell. You might get a more informed response in Dell's forums vs a Thinkpad forum.
