my screen went darker than normal and i cant get it bright again. the fn and bright button doesnt help. any ideas how to fix?

So I just upgraded the screen on my t420 with a LG LP140WD2 (TL)(G1) screen it looks very weird. I can't really describe it in words but I'll say...
