Dear all,
I have a brand new Lenovo 3000 N100 notebook with VistaOS running on cent.duo 2.0 cpu and 2 gigs ram.
I have been using the system very carefully with all antivirus updates and even using IE with cookies disabled.
The system running with a minor CPU load and abt 47% ram usage however the fan is almost always on. It stops very rarely and it is irritating.
Could you please help me with this matter
Regards
Bahadir

Update your BIOS to the latest version:
BIOS Update Utility - 3000 C200, N100.
Give it a week or two, since its a brand new machine with Windows Vista installed so the Operating system must have been indexing your HDD a lot; leading it to the fan to run quite often to cool down on board devices. However if it stays the same then call 00800-4463-2041 between 9AM - 6PM on Monday - Friday to get it serviced from the Lenovo Repair Center in Turkey.
Also keep the following link handy for future references:
Drivers and software - 3000 N100.

Re: 3000 / N100 - Fan never stops
You need to take off your heatsink and clean and apply more thermal paste. Do a light very thin coat just barely covering the chip.
Then clean out any dust on your heatsink and fan and reassemble.
Guarantee the problem will be gone....same thing happened to me
