6-cell S10e battery compatible with S10?
6-cell S10e battery compatible with S10?
If you go to Lenovo's site and search their Batteries & Power section for "S10" you find black and white versions of a 6-cell battery for the S9e/S10e.

Does anybody know if these batteries are compatible with the simply IdeaPad S10 model?
Does the 'e' simply stand for the European version of the S10? I don't see why, if the hardware is equivalent, they shouldn't work together.

meaning of 'e'
'e', as in Ideapad S10e, stands for Educational version.
Re: 6-cell S10e battery compatible with S10?
Not to make too much of an issue as to whether these batteries are in fact interchangeable, but the Lenovo website lists, apart for the very different prices, substantially different "Architecture", measurements, for the 6-cell S10e and the S10 batteries.
See:

For the S10e:

I've found a couple of conclusory and likely trustworthy statements on related forums that the batteries are identical, but the Lenovo information above gives me reason to doubt. I haven't yet been able to find any report online of anyone who admits to successfully installing an OEM or non-OEM S10 battery on an S10e or an S10e battery on an S10. Has anyone out there actually done this?
My interest is getting a cheaper, generic S10 battery (haven't yet seen one specifically labelled as made for the S10e yet) for my S10e with some confidence that it will fit.
Many thanks.

Re: 6-cell S10e battery compatible with S10?
I had a good laugh when I compared the measurements of the batteries on the 2 websites you listed. The measurements are essentially the same for both batteries (within .5mm) they just mixed up the length height and width. I wonder if this was done deliberately to confuse the innocent.sirspeak wrote:Not to make too much of an issue as to whether these batteries are in fact interchangeable, but the Lenovo website lists, apart for the very different prices, substantially different "Architecture", measurements, for the 6-cell S10e and the S10 batteries.
