System Update 4 vs. Windows update

#1 Post by RRHODY » Sun Dec 20, 2009 7:27 am

Lenovo System Update 4 reports no updates for my S10e, but Win 7 update reports a "new" Broadcom driver and an Intel chipset are available.
Previous posts have indicated NOT to use Windows update, but Lenovo seems to be slow to deal with Win 7.
Anyone have experience with these updates or using Win 7 instead of Lenovo for updates?

Unless you have a problem, I recommend sticking with Lenovo updates (even if they are slow to come). I have Windows 7 Pro running on my T61p, and all critical updates are now available from Lenovo. Presentation Director and Easy Eject appear to have been discontinued for Windows 7 but everything else is there and the machine is running smoothly. ... JDH

I'm having no problems (that I know of <G>), so I'll let sleeping dogs etc.
Thanks
