X220 freezing with 2.5" SATA SSD/HDD installed (booting from mSATA)

hi!
i got my X220 with an mSATA SSD installed and wanted to put in another SSD in the 2.5" slot, but the complete system freezes shortly after the operating system (windows and ubuntu) has booted

what i've tried; bios reset, bios update, install unlocked bios, tried different SSDs and HDDs, connector contacts look clean

current bios: 1.46 without any whitelist

can you share more information? what kind of freeze? when? linux freezes too?

if you dual boot windows and linux, for whatever reason, windows doesnt like an existing linux install present during installation phase. the right way to a dual boot install is to remove the hard drive which will be used for linux, install windows first, once done, add the 2nd hard drive and install linux for which grub will do the magic.
