X220 Display Cables Compatibility

#1 Post by marnav1 » Thu Dec 12, 2024 8:45 pm

Hello all.
Working on some upgrades to my stock X220. So far upgraded Ram to 16gb, and added an SSD. It working fine no issues. Looking to upgrade to an IPS panel, I'm pretty sure I know which one to buy. my question is will the stock cabling work with the IPS display. I noticed a silver multipin cable on each side that connects to the MB when I had it apart for thermal grease renewal. The MB is a stock i5-2520 model. I havent modified it in any way.
Thanks

If you're are referring to the HD IPS screen, there's only one cable for the X220, regardless of the screen, so I don't foresee any issues for you.
