Non-AES fingerprint reader swap on X200 tablet???

#1 Post by piledriver » Sun Feb 10, 2013 2:35 am

The NON-AES Authentec fingerprint readers can be set up like ~touchpads, similar to the newer Blackberries (but much larger sensor, and programmable)

Has anyone swapped in one of those ?
I suspect it would make for a handy touch input alternative in tablet mode on my pen-only X200T.

I'm actually hoping there is some trick to get the std one to work that way i'm missing, just spent some quality time pulling it out and making sure it was plugged in before I found it disabled in the BIOS>I/O access menu wayyyyy down at the bottom. (have to scroll)

At least I know for sure I have the cable for the webcam...(kept digging)
X300---My first Thinkpad and still my favorite. various Linux and Win11 (seriously)
X200-201--"Krunchy" Tablet/Ultrabase, Win10 Pro + Linux+Android-x86
X260, 32GB ram and 2TB p41 NVME SSD. runs Win11 in hardware or Virtualbox just fine.
My Year of Linux on the Desktop was 1993.
