After owning Latitudes forever, my last Latitude suffered a motherboard failure. I recently purchased a Thinkpad T410 as a replacement, which has a cord, however I still have 3 PA-10 cords left from the Latitude.
I'm curious to know if these will work or not. Both the Thinkpad a Dell cords are the same connector, center-positive, 90W cords. The only difference is the Thinkpad's cord is 20V and the Latitude's 19V, and +1V is usually well within a devices supported voltage ranges. The only problem I might see is if the Thinkpad doesn't like the "reporting" chip inside the Dell cords that say it's a 90W, although people with HPs have borrowed my cords with no problems.
The only reason I'm asking is simply because I have a tendency to forget my cord at home, so I've always kept one cord at home and two in the bag so I'll always have a cord. The thing I don't really want to do is have to buy new cords, being as I seriously don't trust the $10 generic cords from the internet, and the "universal" cords cost far more than they're honestly worth, I can get a new OEM cord for less than $100.
