Changed LCD back and touchpad now wont sleep lid closed
Changed LCD back and touchpad now wont sleep lid closed
So I changed the LCD back today along with the touch pad with bezel and now LCD wont trigger the T420 to sleep mode. Was working fine before this swap. Can someone explain how the mechanism work? Does touch pad need to be plugged in? Ty.

Re: Changed LCD back and touchpad now wont sleep lid closed
Somewhere along the sides or front of the palmrest is (supposed to be) a little magnet, that gets triggered by something in the LCD-bezel, when the lid is closed.
Try another magnet and move it slowly along the palmrest edges.
If that doesn't work for sleep, that palmrest magnet has fallen off.
And yes, the touchpad needs to be plugged in.
RTFM.

Thank you for your reply and great to see you on this forum after all these years.
Turns out the camera has the switch and needs to be plugged in. If the camera is not plugged in this feature will not work. The switch is on the right of the camera and the touchpad simply has a magnet. Can test this out by passing a magnet on the right of the camera with lid opened and should trigger the event as chosen in the power schemes.
A great season to everyone.
Cheers
