buzzy speakers

#1 Post by T410 » Mon Nov 11, 2024 12:39 pm

i'm finally going to make a dive to clean or replace my non-working T410 fan, after limping along for a year or more without one. Gonna replace my keyboard too. Since my speakers are also all buzzy and largely unusable, I figure I may as well replace those too. I have a couple of parts machines I can take them from. But my question is, could there be other causes for buzzy speakers other than bad speaker? If so it would be dumb not to address other problems while I'm in there. They are pretty much useless on anything but the lowest volume.

Fortunately, replacing the speakers cured my speaker problem. I also replaced the keyboard. Unfortunately I lost wifi function somewhere along the way. :?

Its a hardware switch issue, Bluetooth is also disabled and it says its disabled by hardware switch. I know my Fn key works but maybe my F5 doesn't. This is a well used keyboard I installed. I checked BIOS but will do that again. I may have to install the old keyboard and see if that helps.

Does that machine have a little wifi-switch on the RH side next to the CD-drive?
That may be OFF or faulty...
