Never heard of a Samsung U100 before, is this actually a SanDisk U100? If so, try downloading the SanDisk SSD Dashboard. There might be a firmware update which could fix that particular issue with the DMA functionality.

Compatibility mode? Does this mean that you are running in AHCI mode for Windows XP?
