T410 need to buy don't know the replacement numbers
T410 need to buy don't know the replacement numbers
I need to replace my lcd panel as it has vertical lines and they appear more and more in different places. Hwinfo says it is Monitor Name (Manuf): LP141WX5-TLP3 and find it difficult to buy sth for resonible low prise. Can You give me a hint of any other replacement lcd numbers that will fit to my t410? In Poland the price for lcd that fits t410 goes around the worth of a used t410 fully working hardware. Maybe it will fit from dell or any other manufacturer, but don't know the brand and model.
thx

Re: T410 need to buy don't know the replacement numbers
The T410 has a 16:10 LCD, which has become exceedingly rare.
The P/N for WXGA (1280x800) are: 42T0725, 42T0729 and 42T0733 (I have no further details).
You have another option, to upgrade to WXGA+ (1440x900).
42T0727 - Samsung LTN141BT08 (low)
42T0735 - AUO B141PW04 V.0 (medium)
42T0731 - LG LP141WP3-TLA1 (best)
You can use the same LCD-cable and LED-board.

Re: T410 need to buy don't know the replacement numbers
My laptop is about 50$ worth (200 polish zloty) replacement goes around 250zloty so it is above it value.ThinkPadMiami wrote: ↑Sat Oct 03, 2020 7:43 amWhy not buy a replacement unit on eBay DE? Easy peasy!
Re: T410 need to buy don't know the replacement numbers
It means that buing a new replacement will cost mor or less the same as my t410 is worth.
Re: T410 need to buy don't know the replacement numbers
There are replacement screens here on ebay but they are more expensive than a 2nd hand T410 but in both cases its probably a poor investment.
The screens are NOS... like in theory they're good but they've been sitting in storage for years.
The laptops are now coming onto a decade old. I do get that WFH has made them a bit expensive which is ridiculous even then because a decade old laptop you dont know if a component is going to let go at any moment. Do I trust a 10yr old LCD screen and LED tube and the motherboard itself???
My opinion would be that any laptop this old would be best served as a DTR replacement if you can put up with the performance but yeah... IMO a T420 w/8gb and a good SSD is still a workable machine but my pair of old T410s are really too old too hot and too slow. ALso batteries are all past it and cant seem to find OEM genuine ones but again, do you risk such NOS even if you have the money?
I do get that not every place has access to cheap electronics like a lot of the English speaking west but I think even something like a 7th gen Intel laptop might be a good thing and not too expensive over what the clowns on ebay are charging for a 410 420...

Re: T410 need to buy don't know the replacement numbers
I dont know what your access to 400 410 420s are like. I just ran thru ebay and gumtree craiglist etc and it seems most people are selling complete working units for something like $150-$200 which isnt worth it IMO.
If you can get the laptop itself for $50 - $100 then that is worthwhile.
A few years back I would cruise a few of the big ex lease resellers (ie. they would buy pallet loads of 3-5-7yr old ex business laptops) and you could buy 410 420 shells ie. laptop minus HDD for $50 $100 dollars.
Even back then no C2D units and the 410 510s no one would want. These were when 6 7 series Intel laptops were new? Maybe 6000 series.
No one was really interested in a T410 w/ 1440 screen 4gb ram no hdd no adapter. Now I think these are all but gone.
Would I buy a $150 $200 T410 now? I dont think so.
In my neck of the woods there's heaps of old 3, 4000 series desktops like Lenovo M93s for not much but laptops, any kind, seemed to have gone scarce. Maybe covid wfh has really kicked off.

$150 for a T420/T520 might be sort of palatable these days.. don't know.. Don't need any more than I have
