Thinkpad L412 mSATA on PCI-E WWAN port Hack

#1 Post by LUC@X » Thu Oct 20, 2011 10:04 am

Hi, i'm wondering, has anyone tryed to install a mSATA SSD PCI-E mini card on the L412 WWAN PCI-E port?
I've been searching about it on the web but there's a lack of infomation, the only thing people say is L420 sopports SSD on the WWAN port, but, the ports are just the same. I'm a programmer and a GNU/Linux user, on ThinkWiki http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/MiniPCI_Express_slot they explain there's a "WhiteList" and i'm wondering if the mSATA SSD support on the L420 is a BIOS thing or a hardware (pin connections) thing.

Has anyone installed a mSATA SSD on the L412's WWAN mini PCI-E port?

I'll like to know what hapenned, if it booted the os?, any message on BIOS init?...

maybe i could hack the bios and include the HW ID in the whitelist....

Thank's
