Some keys not working on the keyboard

#1 Post by gnarly_buttons » Sat Jan 21, 2012 4:07 am

I have a problem with certain keys not working on my keyboard. It seems to be pressure related. When I rest my wrists while typing the keys often don't work. The list of keys is below (QWERTZ keyboard)

T
left shift
backspace

Sometimes it stays stuck even when I'm not resting my wrists.

What can I do to fix this?

Thanks,
Scott

If you say that the keys sometimes work, sometimes not, and it seems to be related to pressure, first thing I would check is that there is nothing stuck under the keycaps, and that the surface under them is clean. You can carefully remove the keycaps, clean underneath with a q-tip, and put them back on.

When I said pressure, I meant the pressure of my wrists. In fact, it seems to be only the left wrist resting area that causes the keys to not respond.
