Power Manager Gauge on Taskbar problem

it just cannot show up early for some reason on my SL400 laptop. I checked the power manager settings and it's checked to show up on taskbar. but it only show up after 6 minutes, sometime it show up 'til 8th minute! it's kind of ridiculous. I am tryin to fix it but i don't know if I can do it or not. Please help, thanks!

I'm having a similar issue with Power Manager, however, the icon states "No battery installed." The battery is installed and the machine. It doesn't matter if it's running on the battery of direct ac power.
