touchpad on sl300 still doesn't work

My original sl300 had a touchpad that did not always work. Most of the time it did but then you end up having to tap 3 to 6 times to get a button to respond. I sent the machine back to lenovo and they replaced the palm rest which includes the touchpad. Now that I have it back it still has the problem. The sensitivity setting for the touchpad makes no difference. hopefully they take this thing back for good.
There must be others that are experiencing this problem.
