W520 and Ham Rig

#1 Post by Renee10 » Fri Sep 28, 2018 12:57 pm

Is there anything wrong with the USB jacks on the W520? My Icom IC-7300 is just back from the shop and they said it was works fine HOWEVER I can't get it to transmit using Win10. It receives fine and uses a single usb cable. This why I sent it in, I have replacement USB cables which fail in the same way. My big hangup is not being able to transmit.

Did you connect your Icom IC-7300 to a blue USB port (USB 3.0) on your W520? I think that may have caused some sort of an issue, don't take my word for it though.

Try connecting it to a yellow USB port (USB 2.0) on your W520, see if that works.

Do you have the latest drivers installed for the ICOM, and does it require RS232 port emulation?

Also check to see what COMM port it is trying to use and assign it that port.
