Intel Turbo Memory slot

Does anyone know if a Mini PCI-E to USB adapter would work in the Intel Turbo Memory slot in the W500 or T400/500?
W540+T450 TP i7-4800MQ K1100M 16 GB RAM 240GB SSD

It should work without an issue, since the Turbo Memory slot has the required PCI-E lanes wired into its connector.
