W701 fx2800m - HP parts :(

I purchased fx2800m on ebay for my W701 because the temp was running too high and throttle with my old one.

Upon receiving it, I noticed that it has HP parts number on the sticker, which leads me to believe that it's originally for the HP laptop.

is it compatible with W701?

I googled a bit but the only reference I found was that HP-labeled fx2800m runs on W701 "imperfectly"

Some of them work well, some won't work at all.
The best way is to check it!

I have seen reports claiming those GPUs that are built on light green plates worked fine. Still, never tested it this way.

I doubt that the throttling issue was with the GPU, it was probably your cooling system. If you want, I have a spare 2800M I could sell.
