Raid and Turbo memory

#1 Post by jayanthd » Tue Dec 22, 2009 3:52 pm

Can someone enlighten me if Raid 0/RAID 1 is compatible with Turbo memory in the pci-e slot in the W 700Ds?

Thanks

No idea. But I would recommend you just skip out on "Turbo Memory" altogether. It's basically worthless. Put the money towards more RAM and I guarantee you'll see better results.

I opted out of the Turbo Memory after reading some forum/blogs of people having major issues with it. Rather than more memory over the 4GB I ordered with the W700 I chose the 7200rpm drives. My RAID 1 works every bit as well as I expected.

I run Turbo Memory and a RAID 1 configuration with two new 450GB 7200 rpm hard drives.

It runs fine, but I am also skeptical as to whether Turbo Memory has much benefit. (Previously I posted on this board that it did, but with more extensive use, I doubt it.
