Z61p

So pleased with my Z61p. I replaced the display housing with a titanium one from a defunct Z60m... Now I have my dream ThinkPad

sounds like an extra special unicorn. :) closest i got was upgrading a titanium Z61m to WUXGA (and finishing it with a Z61e touchpadless palmrest), and trying to put T500 and R500 motherboards in Z60m chassis - for future reference, R61 or T61 motherboard is the best fit.

Z-series is strangely charming. they were the first thinkpads offered with integrated webcams, altho the implementation is slightly awkward, requiring a special board and in the 14” case a divot in the palmrest.

Sounds like a nice machine you have there! I've got three Z61p which I bought between 2012 and 2013. Fully upgraded and in-fact my first one I am about to swap the internal WiFi card with a USB 3.0 PCIe card, and then run a short modified extension cable through the back with a socket on. This will free up my ExpressCard slot for my eGPU card and adapter. My old desktop Geforce GTX550-Ti will be used in this, to fully DSP power a convolution reverb plugin. https://gpuimpulsereverb.de/.
Z61p x3 (C2D T7600, 3GB, 500GB SSD, BCM70015, Advanced Dock x1, Mini Dock x2)
W520 (C2Q i7-2720QM, 32GB, 240GB SSD)
X61 (C2D T7500, 4GB, 250GB SSD, BCM70015)
X61s (3GB, 120GB SSD)
T43p (PM 760, 2GB, IBM Port Replicator II, 128GB SSD)
G41 (P4 3.46GHz, 2GB, 128GB SSD)
