How to instructions for replacing xp with win7

This is my first OS replacement, is there a good walk-thru-how-to already existing on the Forum?

The hiatus in architecture has provided some time to learn BIM software. Autodesk Revit 2014 is used at local college and the student copy won't run on my trusty T60 with XP which is now running Revit 2013. The rub is that the two versions of Revit won't swap files, for whatever reason, sadly that option left years ago.
Or.... another Tpad w/ win 7 running? Since everything is OK with old trusty why change.

@ajkula66. Last I heard PatchySan is taking a break from NBR. I am not sure if that PDF guide will reappear anytime soon.

For long threads with lots of pages, always read the first and last pages before you complain.
Reading that NBR thread "properly", you would have found this post by Lyndos (3rd last post, #217 of the thread):
