X40 2371 Bluetooth

#1 Post by bpmcclure » Thu Apr 10, 2014 9:17 pm

I have Windows 7 up and running and like it a lot. The video issue was challenging, but it was something that I was able to overcome. Bluetooth, however, is still stumping me. I tried installing the Vista driver (Bluetooth III), and it does get the radio working and discovering devices, but when pairing is attempted, the driver fails to load.

Has anyone figured out a way around this? I seem to remember that the Bluetooth II was the driver that worked under XP. Anyone have any ideas?

Well, I tried the Windows 7 Hot Key driver available from the Lenovo support site, and it won't load either. Installing it results in a warning that it is not supported by my system. Oh well, one more annoyance, but otherwise pretty good so far.

Not sure what exactly happened, but all of the sudden, bluetooth came to life and is working fine. I have the Bluetooth III driver installed.

Bad news is, sound quit working after it seemed to be fine. Clueless where to turn on this, but maybe someone has an idea.

Doh, mystery solved. Even though the hotkey features do not work, the volume buttons still do control machine volume. If you push the mute button, you are muted but have no indication of that in the system tray. Whew, thought I was losing my mind. Now I have video, bluetooth, and sound all working pretty well. I'm a happy camper.
