Does anyone know of an economical desktop keyboard that has a TrackPoint or similar pointing stick?
I've gotten to the point that I hate using the mouse on my ThinkCentre at work and often set my ThinkPad next to it and use Remote Desktop so I have the TrackPoint available.
I know IBM has the ~$100 UltraNav deksktop keyboard, but my employer would never allow me to spend that much on an accessory! I also know IBM used to offer a keyboard with the TrackPoint that was also pricey. It's too bad they don't ship the TrackPoint keyboard with all IBM desktops - it would certainly cause a revolution in the desktop world as people realize how much time you waste moving your hand to and from the mouse and keyboard!
Thanks,
Matt

I have three keyboards with Trackpoints on them. I bought all of them on Ebay, and I think the most I paid was $40.00.
Two of the keyboards are Trackpoint II's, don't have the Windows 95 key (which I never use, anyway), and have the nice "clicky" feel. One was set up French, but after juggling a few keycaps, it works as an American.
The third keyboard is a Trackpoint IV, which has the Windows 95 key and a "silent" action. I don't like it as much.
Btw, the keyboards also have a plug so you can put a conventional mouse or trackball into it in case you need one.
Hope this helps.
