Thinkpad modding / customizing (appearance not performance)

#1 Post by tabithaboof » Tue May 10, 2005 1:20 pm

A user in a different forum mentioned that some Japanese users got to great lengths to import a US keyboard to replace their local one. I have also seen a couple of people mention kind of sticker kits to give your TP a wood or metal veneer or something similar. I was thinking about getting some fun stickers for mine or maybe doing a stencil or something similar.

I was wondering if anyone had tried modding/customising their TP any pics or stories or handy sites to recommend?

I will post a picture if i come up with anything interesting[/quote]

The only mod like that I'd be even a little interested in would be an automotive paint job. Black, of course. Or maybe gunmetal. Cleaning the lid on the X's and T's can be vexing...

But, then it would just eventually get scratched, like all things shiny...personally I think they got it right the first time!

Wonder how much Macco would charge if you brought them all the plactic pieces, LOL? Would they melt in their paint dryer?
