Google Search now all ad results at top
Probably a month or 2 now but Google Search seems to have changed and shows all store ads now on first page when I search anything. ebay, amazon, target, walmart and so on are the ads it displays when I type in for example Nvidia vs AMD and all I will get now is ads on the first page to buy rather than websites that would show topic vs. and they would be moved the 2nd or even the third page.
Even if I type in ThinkPad not powering on in google search, now I get in search results, buy ThinkPads on such website rather then it showing ThinkPads.com on first search page. If this is googles new web design update then I want to move to a search engine that isn't showing buy on such store then just looking up information.
This is what I found on google web design.
Why do my Google searches show ads first?
On average, ads that appear on the first page or above the search results get substantially more clicks than ads that appear on other search results pages. To help you get your ads to show in these valuable positions, Google Ads provides cost-per-click (CPC) bid estimates you can use when setting your bids.

Re: Google Search now all ad results at top
It's been this way much longer. If you search anything remotely related to a product or service, the top four links are ads. I liked it better when they were on the side, making them easier to ignore, which Google probably noticed too.

The whole first page and sometimes the 2nd is all store link ads now. It wasn't like this a few weeks ago. I will not find for example ThinkPads.com until probably the 3rd or forth page if I type in ThinkPads. I will get multi links to bestbuy, amazon, ebay. If they keep with this I will stop using google search. I never used duckduckgo.

This is odd. Could you post a screenshot? I don't get a single ad on the first page with this query: https://www.google.com/search?q=nvidia+ ... e&ie=UTF-8ThinkPad560X wrote: ↑Thu Sep 22, 2022 11:48 amwhen I type in for example Nvidia vs AMD and all I will get now is ads on the first page to buy rather than websites that would show topic vs. and they would be moved the 2nd or even the third page.
Or this query: https://www.google.com/search?q=ThinkPa ... owering+on
Are you running with an AdBlocker? Could it be that something other than Google stealing your query? An extension, perhaps?

Seems the behaviour of an extension in browser that modify your searches. Try to disable every extension you have and check if it persist. If not re-enable the extensions one by one to find the culprit.

Re: Google Search now all ad results at top
It must be the Microsoft Edge on all my machines. I just booted up Linux running Firefox and everything is normal on search of google. I even loaded firefox on my windows machine and don't get the ads. So MS probably changed the settings. I know Edge updates its self how many times and then it does what ever it wants. I may just switch fully to firefox then.
