Any Framework laptop adopters? I am a one, ask my anything

Guys, I am just wondering if any of you have had a chance to try the Framework laptop?

I switched to FW about two months ago after about 13 years of ThinkPad loyalty. I got the 12th gen i5 version. The last straw was the legal thread from Lenovo to framework for the open-source 3-d printed motherboard case. I sold my P1 gen2 and considering selling the rest of my ThinkPad collection.
I too investigate how to add trackpoint. I know how to do it electrically (see my other post on ThinkPad keyboard with the usb) but mechanical construction is troublesome.

Also, I am glad to answer questions if you have any.

Make an adapter that goes from Framework motherboard keyboard socket to Lenovo motherboard keyboard socket, then you can use a Lenovo keyboard with trackpoint.
Problem solved.
E.g. the T420 uses a 46-pin JAE AA01B_S040VA1 for a 7-row keyboard.
E.g. the T470/T480 use a 36-pin HIGHS_FC5AF361-1151H for a 6-row keyboard.

It does not work this way. The embedded controller has to support PS/2 from the trackpoint. Having PS/2 to USB is the easiest way.

I love FW's keyboard but I have to put it to the perspective. Most ThinkPads I had, suffered from a phenomenon called "Thinkpad keyboard lottery". For example, I have a T61 keyboard with the Czech layout, that is terrible. I also have a T61 keyboard with the German layout that is joy to type on. My last TP was P1 gen2. This model came with the UK layout, and the keyboard was barely acceptable. Not only the bug in the EC controller but also the feel. I could not get used to typing on that keyboard. Maybe it was also because it was my first "thinkpad 6-row" layout. The EC controller bug was solved/suppressed by new bios version.

When I first started typing on FW it was a big relief for me. I enjy it. I miss the trackpoint.

The chassis is nicely machined and I can't complain about craftsmanship. However, it is more in the Acer Swift 5 direction than ThinkPad. I understand that this is a compromise due to the serviceability. For me, it is not a problem. I do not abuse laptops like I used to. Still, my company issued Dell 5530, or any ThinkPad I have had, feel more solid. If durability is the reason why you buy a Thinkpad then stay away from Framework. If you're OK with Apple products then you're likely OK with FW.

To my surprise, I am not annoyed by the glossy screen. The 3:2 aspect ratio is so good that I forget bitching about the glossy screen.

Looked at the product presentation page, I'm actually kinda shocked at the lack of detailed technical informations... for a product which is clearly geared towards technically minded users.

E.g you have to download the user manual just to know the resolution of the screen. And there's not even any info about whether the panel is matte or glossy

Also, there should be at least six modules instead of just four - especially since there's no dedicated charging port, you effectively have only three freely available modules. Not acceptable for my use.

I'll definitely wait for a few other iterations to reassess the situation. I've read their forums and people have been calling for a thicker variant which'd allow for more keyboard options (incl. with a trackpoint). That's more what I'm looking after, and more what the company should target. Right now the product is still too much of an Apple clone.
