iPod - Future Updates?

#1 Post by atct86 » Mon Feb 06, 2006 3:40 pm

I have a 15gb 3rd Generation Ipod. I am looking into buying a 30gb 5th iPod becasue I need more space, and a color screen would be nice.

I know that Apple normally does a mid-cycle update on the iPod where they enlarge the storage. Could this be happening soon?

Is it worth getting the current iPod or are there some worthwile updates that will happen in the next 6 months?

Apple is notoriously tight-lipped about product updates. Your best bet would be to check ilounge or ThinkSecret every so often for news and rumors.

In a somewhat ironic twist, Apple's mid-cycle update of the iPod nano resulted in a new model with decreased storage: 1GB!

$149. Makes a nice bit-bucket for jogging and other activities where you might not want to expose a HDD to shock.

the most recent ipod gen5 60gig seems to be quite nice..
the only thing i can think of to add would be builtin bluetooth for wireless headphones..
and maybe about 25 other enhancements but for now i'll leave it at the BT.. :)
