Given the clear dislike and hostility of the Communist Chinese Government for Microsoft and its solo open rebellion against Microsoft attempts to dictate terms to Asian governments, you can bet on it that Chinese Lenovo will machinate against the Microsoft - Intel monopoly. I suspect IBM sold 70% of its computer division to Lenovo for this very reason. IBM did not sell off its computer division. It did a merger with Lenovo. IBM outright owns 30%, still, which is a sizeable chunk.
By the way, GM launched the Japanese Auto Industry and it has always owned 25% of Toyota stock and a nice hunk of Honda. Ford completely owns Mazda, Mercedes (which is highly popular in Asian countries) & that German sports car company. GM is the number one car maker in China and those low priced Chinese cars that will soon be selling in America are made by a GM owned Chinese car maker.
I expect the next year or two to prove interesting indeed.

dont know where your getting your information from but Ford doesnt own Mercedes Benz. Ford owns a sizable chunk of mazda but not 100%.BruisedQuasar wrote:Given the clear dislike and hostility of the Communist Chinese Government for Microsoft and its solo open rebellion against Microsoft attempts to dictate terms to Asian governments, you can bet on it that Chinese Lenovo will machinate against the Microsoft - Intel monopoly. also dont think GM owns 25% of Toyota and Honda. I htink you meant to say Subaru. Since GM is using subaru platforms for some current Saab cars.

If Toyota owned GM and Ford, both would now be making automobiles that people want and of course afford and not paying idle workers to lounge in labor pools watching tv.
If the Chinese were to produce a 30 dollar windows emulator, I would buy it in a blink of an eye. Scruw that billionaire skinny nerd in Seatle.
Anyone that makes a mobile computer that runs for 16 hours on a charge and runs as fast as a P3 has my endorsement.

I sooooo hope they do, or at least try, or even start a rumor that they are going to, or start a rumor that they are going to try and leak it to the democrats so the press would take an interest in it, the monopoly board needs more players. If the Chinese were to produce a 30 dollar windows emulator, I would buy it in a blink of an eye. The monopoly may need more competitors, but a competitor is going to have to know what it is doing. So far no one has succeeded to any great extent. I long ago started paying for utility software because (by and large) free software is usually defective in some mortal way making it worth paying for stuff. I pay for Office because the low price competitors don't cut it for me. I too would like to see cheaper product, but I don't want lesser product just to spite myself. ... JD Hurst
