X131E Battery question?

#1 Post by elemein » Fri Jul 26, 2013 11:00 am

Hello guys,

I am going to be buying a new, 11.6", affordable laptop soon.

I have done lots of research and narrowed my options down to:

HP 3165
Asus Vivobook X202E
Lenovo Thinkpad X131E (the E1-1200, E2-1800 and i3-3227U versions)

Now, a very large factor of the laptop will be battery life. To my knowledge, the Vivobook gets about 4 hours in real life (I read many reviews.) However, Lenovo claims 8.5 hrs for the X131e, which is ridiculously long!

However: http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/th ... index.html

Reviews here state the laptop only gets about 4-5 hours of battery life.

Other reviews on other sites seem to give no definite number of hours.

So I decided to ask reputable and knowledgeable members, hence why I'm here;

So be honest with me. Realistically, with decent use (web browsing, watching videos, WiFi on, etc.), how much battery life can I expect from the x131e?

For an example of which specific laptop I'll be getting, here is the E2-1800 version: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.as ... junctionCA

Thanks in advance to all answerers!

I'd tend to believe the reviews more than Lenovo. 4-5 hours seems about right.
