dual core options disappear from Australian site

#1 Post by laughingtonto » Mon Mar 22, 2010 10:04 pm

Here I was hoping their appearance down under would mean dual core x100e options would be available soon in the US and now they've disappeared from the Australian website as well. What's up Lenovo???

Sigh.

I don't think so. While the newer ATOM 450's would certainly be a huge improvement in battery life, they're no where near as powerful as a dual core Athlon Neo in the X100e's.

Not to say I wouldn't be tempted by an Atom-based X100e, but for my needs the greater computing power and higher end graphics in the ATI 3200 chipset better fit me currently.

I ordered a dual core X100e with the WWAN option in early March, when it was available on the Lenovo Australia's website. I was hoping to post my first impressions soon, but I've just been informed by Lenovo that the order will now not be processed until early April due to supply constraints. Therefore, I don't expect to see the machine before end-April. Ah well, hopefully it will be worth the wait.

Cheers.

Thanks for sharing that. At least I know that dual cores are still in the queue.
