x100e games, shouldnt get bored so fast

#1 Post by howto » Wed Jan 19, 2011 7:11 am

I am looking for some games for the x100e.

The games should be older games, due to the lacking power.
Further more, they shouldnt get bored so fast.

Does anybody have suggestions for these points?

Unfortunately, the MV40 doesn't seem to be able to handle Source adequately, at least for me.
I'm also having issues running Star Trek Elite Force II on it (not sure about the first).

I'm certain Tiberian Sun will run perfectly on it, and it's free from Westwood along with C&C Tiberian Dawn and Red Alert 1.

Anything not very GPU intensive should run okay on the HD3200. Heck, Modern Warfare 2 will do surprisingly okay on the MV40/HD3200 at lowest.

Deus Ex with the Shifter mod. Play through it once, then install the Revision mod and HDTP and play through it again.

I was able to finish Starcraft II on it, also runs MW2, didn't play through it but just installed it and tried it out to see if it would even run.

portal, guild wars, world of goo, worms, starcraft 2

Running on the L625.

I don't think any of these are running at highest detail.

I know it's an older post, but anyone with games working okay on the X120e? I'm going to try Fallout 3, but haven't had time to. Interested to hear what you have tried.

The X120e's HD6310 is more or less on par with the T400's HD3470, so more demanding games might be a challenge. The small size of the X120e probably makes overclocking it more difficult than with a T400 (along with all the other inherent risks of overclocking).

It helps a lot to have the dual-core CPU.
