Thinkpad X1, really love but no i7 version in Italy..
Hi All,
I am really sorry that I cannot customize this beautiful laptop outside US! In fact if I use the US website I have only US country pack with US keyboard, and from Italian website I can buy only the i5 version without Hyper threading...
Have you any idea about how avoid this problem and be able to buy the i7 version with italian keyboard?
thanks in advance!
Fabio

Re: Thinkpad X1, really love but no i7 version in Italy..
which i5 version doesn't come with HT?
Current ThinkPad: T430u, T430s, X1 Carbon, X1, X230t, X220t, X230, X220, X201t, W520, W701ds, T500, T420 and many more
Re: Thinkpad X1, really love but no i7 version in Italy..
seems to understood that the only one difference between i5 and i7 (in caso of dual cores for both cpus) is the hyper threading not present in i5, of course not all software is using this feature..but I would take the better options for this beautiful laptop!!!!!

You could change the keyboard easily (around 40 euro) to the italian one if you plan to buy from lenovo us. You can also use the italian power coard.

But in the US website is written:
International shipping
Due to U.S. export restrictions and policies, Lenovo does not ship international orders outside the United States. However, online shopping is available all around the world, and we are pleased to accept orders from within the final destination country.
http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/cont ... ernational
I don't know, I found a lot of incredible customization and I can't understand why from Italy is not possible take a t420s with i7 and graphic card or x220 with ips display or a X1 with i7 and 8 gb of ram...I have money to spend and I can't! very very strange! I don't know I'll try in the austrian website if there are more powerful configuration cause actually i'm in wien..

mrfabio, this is what the community is about. Helping each other out and we like to have new people around here. This is the hardware maintenance manual for the thinkpad x1 and here you find out exactly how to replace every part of this nice machine:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-77515
You order the thinkpad from lenovo.us with amazon payment. The amazon payment address is the one you get from borderlinx.com Borderlinx is a postal redirect service from dhl, so you have an postal address in the uk and in the usa. If a package arrives at one of your two new post addresses you get an email whether they should send it to you know or later. You pay for the shipment and get the product. This is a very reliable and secure service.

@ssd_thinkpad : thanks a lot for your support I have no words..
Already created an account on borderlinx and, next step, decide if choose X1 or T420s with best options (and also most higher display resolution) and where I can find lenovo's keyboards (on ebay I didn't find them for now but I'll investigate or I'll go by the company)
