600E deep "scratches"

#1 Post by dhe » Sat Dec 21, 2024 6:30 pm

Hi,
I pulled my 600E from storage, I don't remember seeing any screen scratches before, but now the screen looks beat. Anyone ever seen something like this?

Doing more research.

Apparently a victim of Vinegar Syndrome.

This is a 2645-4AU does anyone know the part number of a replacement panel?

Pick your choice:
LCD Panel (DBU) 05K9398
LCD Panel (HITACHI) 05K9466
LCD Panel (LG) 05K9519
LCD Panel (Samsung) 05K9546

But I actually prefer Murphy's from Cork!

Yep, vinegar syndrome. Never a fun thing to find. You can repair the panel if you'd like, requires new polarizer film and a lot of work. Probably a bit cheaper than a new LCD, but might not be worth it to you.
