240X Win2k Trackpoint went crazy

Anyone ever seen this?

Trackpoint works fine during Windows setup.
Trackpoint works fine once Win2k is installed.

Then I had to install .net framework 2.0 for the thinkpad configuration tool to work, reboot and the trackpoint goes nuts. Like, you touch it and the pointer flies across the screen and can't be controlled.

PS/2 mouse works OK, so I uninstalled .net framework, the mouse driver, and it just reinstalls the trackpoint ps/2 mouse with the same problem.

I know it's a software problem. Do I really need to install Win2k all over again!!?

With this machine it turns out it was the trackpoint. It basically died on me. I totally reinstalled W2k and it was still acting crazy.
