E530c upgrade options

#1 Post by FrontBackSide2Side » Sat Mar 20, 2021 5:02 am

Hi, I have a ThinkPad Edge E530c with an i5 processor, 4GB of ram and a 1TB HDD.

What are my upgrade options for this model?

I'm presuming I could swap the HDD for an SSD

What is the maximum amount of ram this model will take, what what type is the best?

Is the processor soldered or socketed?

Are there any other upgrades that I haven't thought about?

Thanks guys 🙂

Upgrade the (socketed) CPU to e.g. a quad i7-3632QM.
Max. 2x8GB DDR3-1600 / PC3-12800 (L-version works also)
SSD, e.g. Samsung 860 EVO
FHD screen, e.g. one of these: http://www.panelook.com/modelcompare.ph ... 86,683,682
