LENOVO T430 --> NOISY FAN and CRAZY FAN SPEED

#1 Post by lucskywalker » Fri Aug 03, 2012 7:15 am

Hello,

I am the owner of a brand new LENOVO T430 with I7, NVIDIA CARD, 8G ram, SSD and backlit keyboard.

Despite the fact that the machine is OK in almost every respects, I have some issues that I must to share.

1) booting time with normal softwares installation takes an average time of 40s. (25s. if the computer is software empty).

2) some stupid changes were made: the next/last page keys were replaced with PgDn and PgUp. So exactly the same function offered by the arrows Up and Down... Stupid I told you.

3) The Q partition issue (a classic on brand new lenovo machines... Annoying message saying that the Q partition installed by lenovo is full and that you should do something) was found on my machine.

4) THE REAL ISSUE IS:

The fan speed starts at high speed during the booting time and keep the same behavior up to closing time. The fan is VERY noisy (OK for a noisy office floor but impossible to work with it in quiet environment (office, bedroom, etc.).

A Lenovo tech made some BIOS update and changed the cooling system but it is still the same.

Apparently this issue can be found in many new Lenovo and was observed on LENOVO T420 too.

What the hell is doing Lenovo?

Some years ago it was top notch machines... Nowadays, It is still not cheap machines and even HP can offer quiet system with +/- the same specs.
