T530 random shutdown

#1 Post by Monck » Sun Feb 09, 2014 6:13 am

Hi all!

I've small problem with my T530.

It sometimes random shutdown without any reason. Watching movie, reset, browse internet reset, etc. There is no info in event viewer.

I got this laptop with i3 SB, 4GB, 320GB 7200, with minidock, w7 ulti.
Upgraded to I7-3610qm, 16GB (2x Corsair 1866), 120SSD Vertex 3 and 500GB into ultrabay.

I use MemTest for 10h+ no errors.
Test with Prime to stress, no restart.
Back to orginal config, still restart sometimes.

I've 2yr warranty left, and as i think it's a must to replace mobo ;(

Maybe someone have problems like me and know how fix thix

Thanks for any help!

Regards

Have you checked if it's not overheating?

Yeah, idle temp 45-55. And almost always reset with this temp. Newer during virtualisation or playing.

So you are probably right and it's a broken motherboard. You might want to check how it runs on linux (via live CD) and if it has the same issue, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Does this shutdown occur when the laptop is moved?
