Fingerprint Reader on T540p

Hi all
Just bought this laptop and wondering if there is normally a light on the fingerprint reader. The manual says so on page 55 but I have no light. The fingerprint reader program can be launched and I can select a finger but swiping does nothing. I suspect the device gets no power. Device manager does not indicate any problematic devices.
I have all Lenovo and Windows 7 updates applied.
Let me know if you know anything about this.

There is a light ... essential if you think about it. I suspect something isn't attached. Is your machine under warranty? If so, call for someone to fix it.

Yes, but it's a tiny green pinhole light on the left hand side of the FPR. If its still under warranty, call tech support. Otherwise take a look at the connectors between the palmrest and the FPR and MB.
