T550 (brand new) - one letter is not fully responsive.
Hi,
This is my first post here, i have recently got my T550, everything is great however i noticed that one of the letters is not functioning properly. This is particularly the letter O, if i apply pressure on the upper part of the key, it is working, however when i apply pressure on the lower part of the key, it is not working.
Also, kindly advise on the best resolution to be used i got the 3k display, and the maximum resolution seems very small to me.
Thank you in advance.
Arvin.

Is the key cap fully attached to the keyboard, and is there nothing blocking it? You can try reseating the key as well. Other than that, the keyboard is under warranty and you should be able to get another keyboard and replace it yourself. You could send the whole unit in yourself, but that would take longer.

Hi,
Thank you for your reply, can you advice on how to reseat the keys on the keyboard as i am new on this one.
Also, if they replace the keyboard, will they replace the whole one or just the affected key?
Thanks!

Re: T550 (brand new) - one letter is not fully responsive.
welcome to the forum..
i have not seen the T500 series but i suspect it has the new style keyboard so i'm unfamiliar with the mechanism..
older classic style keyboards has a tiny scissor mechanism and the keytops could come detached from part of that mechanism..
pressing firmly would usually reseat the keytop on the scissor mechanism..
with these new style keyboards i don't know since i only have one X1 carbon with this new style keyboard..
normally the entire keyboard would be replaced..
if you are indeed in dubai i don't know where it would be sent for repair.. they might send you a replacement keyboard and instructions on how to swap the keyboards..
in any event it IS or should be under warranty..
others might have more insight, give this question some time to gather more replies..

Thank you for the quick replies, really appreciate this forums.
Just an update, i have brought it to one service center of lenovo and they said that they are going to replace the whole keyboard.
Quick question though, for those people who have their keyboards replaced, does it solve your keyboard problem?
Im hoping that this is nothing serious and is only a simple keyboard problem only.
Thanks!

Re: T550 (brand new) - one letter is not fully responsive.
The one time I had issues with a single key missing on a TP keyboard was about 6 months after I got my T61p; all I did was call them up, tell them one of the keys wasn't working, and they sent me a new keyboard and a box to send the old one back in. Haven't had any issues with the replacement since it was installed, and it's been over 7 years.
As for your 3k display - it's best to use it at its native resolution of 2880 x 1620 and just increase the DPI settings from the OS to scale everything up to make it bigger.

Re: T550 (brand new) - one letter is not fully responsive.
Thanks! Hopefully it will be fixed when the new keyboard is available.
On the screen resolution, it seems not normal when adding a custom DPI size on the text as it seems to not fit the screen properly. Any idea's on the best DPI for the said resolution?
Thanks!

Lenovo has replaced my keyboard and it is all working perfect now. Amazed by their quick resolution of the matter.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Why is my P1 Gen 7 so much better on battery? Cool, quiet, fast — but not on AC.
