8 Core CPU availability?

The 16gb of ram in my t520 really isn't cutting it anymore (thanks firefox!). Looking at upgrade options. I like the modular Framework laptop. But it seems really too thin and hindered by thermals to ever be a true "beast". Plus they are running out of stock right now and getting backlogged. So that has me looking at newer thinkpads... but just too expensive.
That has me looking at the T580 series on ebay. Only 32gb of ram supported, would like 64gb but I guess I can managed... But for the last like 7 years, I've really wanted an 8 core cpu in a laptop. I see there are some thinkpad models that come with an 8 core option, but they also force a dedicated nvidia gfx card on you. As a linux user, I don't want to have to worry about nvidia drivers. I know at least on this T520, you had an option of disabling the dedicated nvidia card, but that also disabled your external display ports... And that doesn't work for me either.

So is there any models out there that come with (or can be upgraded to) an 8 core processor with integrated Intel gfx only?

T580 supports 64GB RAM with 2x32GB modules, AFAIK. There were no 32GB modules at the time the machines were released, but they became available later. However, the CPUs are soldered to the board, and there are no 8-core -U CPU options in that generation.

The X1 Extreme series, starting from Gen2, has 8-core CPU and Intel UHD options, although I don't know whether all combinations are available in all markets.

I'd buy one but I have too many laptops already. So do me a favor and get rid of that temptation.
