Hello all
I had a new genuine T470 battery installed over 5 months now. All working fine. This weekend every time i plug in charger i get error (before Windows) saying "Cannot charge use genuine lenovo battery" and when i get into windows lenovo vantage displays use genuine battery and it seems my batttery is not charging as the red LED never displays.
I tried resetting (underneath laptop).
I tried using different AC adapter
Checked all drivers and i am up to date.
I am lost what this could be. Anyone help please??

T470 suddenly not charging battery?
Re: T470 suddenly not charging battery?
How certain are you that the battery is really genuine? Did you buy from Lenovo and get it in a Lenovo-branded box? There are some very authentic-looking counterfeits around...

Re: T470 suddenly not charging battery?
If the battery is new and genuine, is there no warranty? Batteries start to decay as soon as they're made and though it may be genuine, it's potentially been sitting on a shelf somewhere for seven years as the T470 was released in 2017, so father time may be the guilty party here.
If the battery was offered as new and is no longer charging after five months, and you paid credit card or Paypal that may offer you another avenue to pursue should the seller pushback on resolving the situation. I'd start by contacting the seller to see what they have to say about it.

Why is my P1 Gen 7 so much better on battery? Cool, quiet, fast — but not on AC.
