x230 4 beeps after 1vyrain.

#1 Post by kyotokyoto » Tue Jun 24, 2025 6:36 pm

Laptop worked before 1vyrain mod(i had 2.55 bios ver before mod). i pressed power button while it was modding, cuz it said like "press power button or laptop will go into sleep mode" something like that. but after all it said all done!( first photo) and asked me to press enter button to restart laptop. i pressed it with usbflashdrive plugged in. i think that was the mistake. So after all of that it giving me 1-3-3-1 beep without the ram installed and 4 beeps with 4 gb installed or with 8gb installed left/right side 1 plank doesn't matter. i also flashed bios with ch341b to the left chip(photo 3) which is without insription on it. Lenovo X230 WISTRON DASHER-2 LDB-2 11232-1 PCH MX25L640D.bin. backup3.bin is the dump after flashing new bios, and the 2.bin and 1.bin the old ones. i just don't know what to do. feeling so [censored] up. thinking of buying new cmos battery idk. maybe i should flash another correct .bin file. im also new into thinkpads/. asprogrammer logs at 4th image. IMAGES ARE ON REDDIT POST IDK HOW TO ATTACH THEM HERE. www.reddit.com/r/thinkpad/s/zhVmgmztFS

Welcome to the Forum.

Did you check IVprep before you did 1vyrain?
From what I remember, you have to indeed remove the flashdrive before the reboot.
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)
But I actually prefer Murphy's from Cork!
