I've got a W530 with a failed K1000M:

I get this with any of about 20 different Nvidia driver versions I've tried (apart from those which bluescreen) (I can tell the long story about why I've been doing that, if anyone is interested), so I figured I'd replace the motherboard.
I don't need the performance of the 2000M - I'm not a gamer, the most onerous loads are YouTube videos and Sketchup, but my question is are there compatibility concerns?
If I find a K2000M motherboard will that simply drop in in place of the current one?

Re: K1000M mobo vs K2000M
And different heatsink. both are not same due to K2000M has larger die size than K1000M.
Cheers, thinkpadcollection

Thanks for that - same type it is, then.
I'm assuming there can be no explanation other than failed h/w...

Apologies about the photo in my first post, btw - it was a screenshot < 800x600, and I've not encountered such a small limit on image sizes on internet fora for decades, so it never occurred to me to consider the size.
