W530 keycap and software problem

#1 Post by fsh5678 » Fri Dec 07, 2012 8:54 pm

Hello, Everyone

I am new here.

I got this new thinkpad w530 during Thanksgiving, and this is the specific:
i7 3720QM
8GB memory + 8GB memory(bought by myself)
K2000m
backlit keyboard
500HDD + M4 256 SSD (config by myself)
windows 8

I used to have a thinkpad t410i and it was not powerful enough for me now. (it was knocked down from a table by a kid, the system was super slowly now). So I decided to get this powerful workstation. and I realy love this 1080P screen.

and here are some issues I have recently.
1. I didn't find R&R, Power Manager and Access Connection, these 3 thinkvantage software are not preload, and I know it was not out yet( for windows 8 specifically). So can I just download the windows 7 one to install for now?
Is Lenovo going to publish these software's update? I knew under the Metro, there is Lenovo Setting series stuffs, are these software replaced the three I mentioned?

2. whenever I boot my laptop, it will say that Lenovo setting and Lenovo Location Awareness didn't recognize your laptop, please update. and it is up to date already.

3. I really like the old classic keyboard on T410i, and I need to get used to this new keyboard. At first I think the new keyboard is not as bad as I thought, it feels great. But under a normal ussuage, two weeks, ago I recognize that my CapsLock key, left shift key, backspace key and windows key are loose than before, and the keycap is kind of going to break. Now I am using a keyboard protecter to prevent it from breaking. and the arrow keys, Pageup Dn keys, Fn and left ctrl are starting to loose. So I am wondering why, I knew some people complaining about the new keyboard cap. Can I just ask Lenovo to send me a new keyboard since it's under warrenty.

Do anyone meet the same issues I have?

thanks!
