I'm running WinXP on a T40p with a 7K60 drive (The 7200 rpm drive). I've noticed that when on battery, my drive is really slow to respond when traversing a folder tree in Windows Explorer.
I've noticed too, that, if I open a new explorer window the first "slow to respond" explorer comes back and displays the content.
Is my hard-drive dying?

I think you are right - I'm running the max battery - I can't say that I've seen the issue while plugged in. I'll monitor it...
Thanks.
Thanks.

What power settings are you using when you're running on battery? If they're set to maximum battery then that might be your problem.
