I just got off the phone with IBM support and they they do not have a solution to my problem. I am hoping someone on this board has a work-around or solution.
I am using Rapid Restore 4.0 to backup to a second hard drive in the ultra-bay. The backup works but pauses when it attemps to backup several SQL Server files (I run Outlook Business Contact Manager which uses SQL Server). I can click 'skip' to continue the backup, but this requires I sit in front of the machine for potentially several hours.
Having used various brands of unattended backup software for close to 20 years, I know that simple technology exists to backup or skip open files. IBM product mgmt seems to have glossed over this issue.
As a last resort, I can shutdown the service prior to any backup, but this is not a first choice. Has anyone had a similar issue with Rapid Restore?
Thanks in advace for any help.

I've encountered the same issue that you have, in which case I simply skipped over the files..although waiting for the moment to come up when you are required to do so is a real pain.
An option for you might to boot up from the Recovery CD's or from the Rescue Partition (the one were you hold down the Access IBM button during startup) and backing up from there.
